Hi, I'm Zack Zublena, a French-American fine art photographer in Los Angeles, known for my gold body paint photography. For more than a decade, I've photographed real people painted in reflective gold, using pose, light and movement to create portraits that feel both powerful and deeply personal.
Sessions take place in Los Angeles and Las Vegas. Every image is made with real people, retouched by me, never with AI.

My French background and Italian roots shaped my love of art, beauty and the expressive power of the body. When you work with me, you take part in the making of the image. I listen to your ideas, paint you in gold and guide you through the photoshoot. You can bring a clear vision or arrive curious about what we might create together.
Why Gold?
Gold catches light in a way few colors can. Across art and history, it has suggested value, celebration and permanence. In my photographs, it also lets us see a familiar person in an unfamiliar way.
I use reflective gold-colored body paint on real people. Pose and lighting create the luminous effect you see in the photographs; the finished prints contain no physical gold. What matters most to me is the person beneath the paint: their expression, movement and presence.

Before the photoshoot, we talk about what you want the images to convey. You may have a clear vision, or we can discover it together. I guide the gold application, the pose and the lighting so you feel comfortable throughout. You choose how much coverage you want, from a full body portrait to the face only.
For some people, the session feels celebratory. For others, it marks a personal turning point. There is no feeling you need to have and no role you need to play. My aim is to create fine art photographs that feel unmistakably yours.

How Your Gold Photoshoot Works
- Conversation and preparation: We talk about the look and mood you want. A few minutes of calm breathing help you relax before we begin.
- Gold application: I apply the gold body paint by hand, brushstroke by brushstroke. Watching your appearance change is playful, surprising and often moving.
- The photoshoot: You step into the light and I guide your posture and movement. There is no need to know how to pose: a small change in the angle of your face or the placement of your hands can give an image its strength.
- Your images: Your photographs are retouched by me, by hand, never with AI, and delivered as fine art images.
What Are You Going to Wear?
Once painted in gold, you can choose elegant flowing fabrics (gold, white, pink, red…) that complement your golden glow, minimal accessories, or your own outfit. You decide how much coverage you want. The choice is yours.

- Full gold body painting session (as above)
- VIP photoshoot experience: a fully tailored session with a makeup artist, a stylist and additional creative elements, 30 fine art retouched images
- Private 1-hour session before or after the shoot to plan your direction and go through your images
- Custom fine art print: a unique 20 x 30 print of you, framed or ready to hang in your home
- Exclusive digital album: your 30 fine art retouched images, plus behind-the-scenes images
- Follow-up call: 30 minutes by phone or Zoom after the session
What If You Don't Like It?
If for any reason the experience does not meet your expectations, which is very unlikely, I am here to listen and work with you to make it right.
What Product Is Used on Your Skin?
For the gold body painting, we use Mehron Metallic Gold Makeup Powder, trusted by professional makeup artists in the entertainment industry. For an additional cost, we also offer real gold leaf, which is a very different process. Please inquire for more details.
What If You Don't Feel in Shape?
Many people believe they need to look like a model to take part. This is not true. This is not a casting for a modeling agency. It is a fine art photoshoot, and the aim is to celebrate your own beauty and presence, whatever your shape. You choose your level of coverage, and I guide you so you feel comfortable at every moment.
What If You Are Not a Yogi or a Dancer?
Being a yogi or a dancer is not a prerequisite. With my experience guiding people through photoshoots, you will feel at ease. You have the freedom to express yourself, and you will find that many poses are easier than they look. Music and a calm pre-shoot routine set the tone.
My presentation videos show only models for one reason: privacy. Most clients prefer to keep their session private, and the experience is designed for everyone, not only models.
